WHAT WE DO
CONNECTINGPeople want to help one another, but often don't know where or in what way. We address this by building community and relationships in the various circles of those whom we serve. Many hands make the load light. |
RESOURCING
Another element of networking is developing a growing database of resources that can be distributed quickly and efficiently. Whether it is housing, equipment, services, or friendships, we cannot do this on our own. |
COACHING
Individuals in pain often need a compassionate person to whom they can talk without consequences. Our ministry resides outside the chain of command for the organizations and groups we serve. That makes for a safe place for people to turn. |
Vision
Crossroads Mission Care’s vision is to create places where appreciation, self-care, and restoration are accessible, feel close to home, and are a mainstay of military, civil and spiritual first responder culture.
mission
Crossroads Mission Care provides restorative hospitality programs to those who serve others during times of crisis; specifically focusing on military personnel, and spiritual and civil first responders. Our goal is to help them remain effective in their calling.
methods
- Provide hospitality, services, and space to heal on a 35 acre farmstead.
- Provide independent coaching and/or counseling assistance to address their individual needs.
- Walk alongside those who are experiencing trauma and stress—either individually or in group settings.
- Facilitate collaboration and networking to better share resources to serve these communities more effectively.
- Build a community of comradery and support though quality events and activities.
What We Believe
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made. Who, for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.
And we believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets. And we believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.

OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Megan Joraanstad
Board Chair |
Colorado
Megan was born and raised in Singapore where she had the privilege of having Gil and Patti Carter as her Young Life leaders. After graduating from high school she went to Biola University in California where she then graduated with a B.S. in Accounting, and met her future husband, Seth. After working as a tax accountant for two years, getting married, and helping to lead a young adults Bible Study at her church, she found she had a real passion for the Old Testament. Megan and her husband then moved to Denver, CO so she could begin her studies at Denver Seminary to receive an Master of Arts in Old Testament Biblical Studies. While completing her degree she began doing accounting for several small nonprofit ministries, and was able to get a good grasp for the nonprofit sector, its regulations, and the struggles that many nonprofits face. She also began working as a gymnastics coach and found that she was doing as much mentoring for her gymnasts as teaching cartwheels and flips. Through these experiences she found that the world has a deep need to be encouraged and not feel like they are competing for a prize all the time. While Gil and Patti Carter lived in Colorado Springs, Megan and her family were able to see them several times a year to celebrate milestones and holidays together. She is honored to continue the relationship and serve with them in their ministry. Megan lives in Highlands Ranch, CO with her husband, and two kids. She enjoys traveling, writing stories, reading, and gardening. Megan joined the Crossroads Board of Directors in 2017 |

Ben has been serving in the USAF for 14 years and has seen the need for a ministry like Crossroads Mission Care for years. The broken world we live in has a deep need for Jesus’ healing, and it has been most obvious to Ben and Tiffany in the military communities they’ve lived in their entire lives. When Gil and Patti began CMC and Ben and Tiffany saw who they were called to love on, first responders from all walks of life were ecstatic about the project and have followed it closely since its inception.
Tiffany is a homeschool mom to their two children and has a deep passion for the struggles of military
Ben & Tiffany Franke life and the scars it can leave on families. She read a study early in their marriage that the divorce Board of Directors rate in military marriages is almost twice as high as in the civilian community. She has been prayerful about seeking ways to love on these families in particular. Ben and Tiffany have been married for 14 years and have two children, currently stationed in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
